Block Services

• Clean block for inspection
• Inspect block - Magnaflux block, check decks for warp, check for cracked counter bores, check cam bore sizes, check condition of main bearing housing bores for size and alignment, check block crank centerline to deck height (to help maintain correct piston to deck spec and timing gear set up clearance)
• Resurface block decks
• Reset counter bores to correct specs
• Install counter bore repair sleeves
• Convert Cummins blocks to 20/40 lower press fit
• Align-bore blocks
• Install saddle repair sleeves in main bores
• Install cam bore repair sleeves or bore for oversize cam bearings
• Install cam bearings (we can check fit and alignment when cam is provided)                               

Crankshaft Services   

• Clean crank for inspection
• Sonoflux crankshaft and check all threaded holes for damage
• Check crank for journal size and check alignment (T.I.R.)
• Straighten crankshaft if needed
• Polish cranks that are straight and within OEM journal specs
• Regrind crank if needed, maintaining OEM radius and final surface finish
• Weld and regrind damaged journals and thrust area if requested
   

Connecting Rod Services                              

• Clean rods
• Sonoflux rods for cracking and check alignment
• Check big end bores for size and roundness
• Check pin bushings for wear
• Recondition rods, top and bottom  and check for slight twists or warping in rod shaft end to end, and recheck alignment
  (We rebore pin bushings on a Tobin Arp pin boring machine to maintain correct center-to-center distances of rods)
• New pin bushings are installed and fit to new piston pin maintaining factory specified clearances

Cylinder Head Services                                 

• Vat clean prior to inspection
• Final clean prior to assembly
• Magnaflux to ensure no cracks are present
• Check head thickness
• Install copper injector tubes (tooling for most heads)
• Remove and replace valve seats as needed to maintain correct recession and protrusion
• Install valve guides and hone to give correct stem clearances
• Perform valve job to OEM angle specs
• Resurface head to give correct Ra surface finish (Our resurface machine has the capacity to resurface CAT 3406 E, C and B models, also Detroit 60 series and most other diesels in service today)
• Assemble heads after valve job and vacuum test for correct seating
• Align-bore cam tunnel on Detroit 60 head to fit mismatched or new caps

Note – We can install new cam bearings on the O.H.C. Cat and Cummins.
